Sick days and Nike+ news

Sorry things have been a little quiet on this end. I’ve been trying to recover from this annoying cold that I just can’t seem to kick. I insisted that it was just allergies for the first few days, but finally I gave in and spent an entire day in bed, hoping it will help me finally get better. I don’t when the last time I took so many days off from running was.

But enough about that. Did y’all read that Nike+ is partnering with Garmin and TomTom? You’ll be able to connect your Garmin or TomTom device with Nike+. I’ve been partially to Strava lately, when it comes to tracking apps, but I’m always up for trying something new or using more than one.

I’ve always liked the Nike Training Club app for workouts. They’re simple and so many of them can be done just about anywhere. Before this cold got really bad, I tried their new Ellie Goulding’s Tightening and Tone Workout. (For those of you who didn’t know, Ellie Goulding is a pretty serious half marathon runner.)

It takes 15 minutes, requires zero equipment and definitely burns. They’re not messing around with those pike push-ups.

And while we’re on the subject of Nike, how cool are these shoes? I’ve been thinking about getting a new pair exclusively for indoor workouts and I think I may have found them.

  1. I’ve been too sick, too! I finally amped up my exercise on Monday, and by Wednesday I couldn’t finish my plan. Mouth breathing right now as I write, yuck!

Those shoes are SUPER cool. I never treat myself to gym shoes, I always use old running shoes, so I don’t ever look cool. hahah.

  2. Yeah, I usually just wear my running shoes and track mud and dirt everywhere, so I think the gym staff would probably appreciate it if I got a new pair. At least that’s how I’m going to justify it.

Hope you feel better soon! These colds suck!
